๐ซI started working in the hotel at the end of October 2024 and I am working here 5 months.
When we asked Geraldine’s colleagues how long they thought Geraldine was working her, they thought it was way longer, simply because she has settled in so well, and feels like she has been part of the furniture forever!!
๐ซMy main role is to ensure that the restaurant area of the hotel is prepared each day for the breakfast service, so that each resident receives a professional, pleasant, and friendly service, and that their individual needs are catered for fully. Once breakfast service is completed, I assist my colleagues in the Wheat Bar with the carvery service.
Geraldine's willingness to help her colleagues is so transparent in her day-to-day activities. She can be found in the bar, or even on the carvery till, having the chats with our locals!

I really enjoy coming into work at the hotel due to the great teamwork environment there is there. Everybody helps and looks out for each other so that we all have a good day at work. I love meeting all the different residents and customers and having the chat and small bit of banter.
๐๐๐๐ ๐ฆ๐ค ๐ค๐ ๐๐๐ฅ๐๐๐๐ ๐๐๐ฅ๐๐ฃ๐๐ค๐ฅ๐๐๐ ๐จ๐ ๐๐ ๐’๐ฅ ๐๐๐ ๐จ ๐๐๐ ๐ฆ๐ฅ ๐ช๐ ๐ฆ?
I love to spend time with my family when I am not working.
Being a mother of 2 children, there is always something to be doing.
I like to run, and I lately joined the hotel gym to keep fit, it also allows me to have a little me time.
I enjoy travelling and to meet up with friends for a catch up over a drink or coffee, and like most woman I love to shop.

I would like to be still here working at the Talbot Hotel Clonmel doing what I’m doing, still working with the great staff, and meeting the residents & customers.
But of course, all of that could change should if I win the lotto.

When I am not working, I like to help at the local GAA pitch where I am a G.A.A coach. I train the under 10 girls football team with a local GAA. It’s really fun and a rewarding role.
Being honest I really enjoy giving back to my local community!
๐ซWhat Geraldine didn’t tell us was, how fantastic she is with customers.
Not only the external customer, but also our 'internal customer' her own colleagues! Her smile is infectious. She has such a lovely rapport with her colleagues, and also with the guests first thing in the morning.
๐ซShe gives the most unbelievable welcome to everybody! She is so chatty and friendly and personifies excellent customer service with a real #TalbotWelcome. Geraldine is so kind and thoughtful when training in new starters in the restaurant, and she really minds them.
๐ซWhile any new team members are being inducted, she takes so much time out to make sure they are settling in, and being honest I think we all need to call her our own 'Talbot Mammy'!!!
