Clonmel Golf Club

Clonmel Golf Club is the first course that we want to feature in the ‘Suir Valley Golfing Experience’.

It was founded in 1911, and is one of the oldest golf clubs in Munster.

Clonmel Golf Club is a rolling parkland layout designed by Eddie Hackett, it is a mature 18- hole par 71 course measuring 6,366 yards.

Clonmel Golf Club is the closest golf club to the hotel.

It is only a 12 minute drive from Talbot Hotel Clonmel. Clonmel Golf Club is set in the foothills of the Comeragh Mountains with magnificent views across the valley of the River Suir, the scenery & surrounding landscape will take your breath away!

The course offers many natural features including the wooded nature of its surroundings, the views, the flora & and the fauna. Unique features of the course include its undulating fairways, meandering streams, mature trees & testing greens.

Cahir Park Golf Club

The second golf course we are going to highlight from the ‘Suir Valley Golfing Experience’. Set in the heart of the Golden Vale, Cahir Park is an 18 Hole Parkland Golf Course on the banks of the River Suir.

This delightful 18 hole course embracing what was once the heir of Lord Cahir's Estate, is divided in two by the beautiful River Suir.

Cahir Park Golf Club is backdropped by the Galtee, Knockmealdown & Comeragh Mountains.

This parkland course with its breath-taking display of mature trees, streams & lakes will leave a lasting impression on all who play it.

Carrick on Suir Golf Club

The last Golf course we want to feature in the ‘Suir Valley Experience’ is Carrick-on-Suir Golf Club.

It overlooks the historic town of Carrick-on-Suir with panoramic views of the Suir Valley and is shielded by the beautiful Comeragh Mountains.

Founded in 1939, this 18 hole parkland course stretches 6109 meters off the back tees giving every level of golfer a challenge they will rise to and the wish to come back and repeat again and again.

This scenic parkland golf course is bordered by the Comeragh Mountains on one side & the breath-taking views of the Suir Valley on the other, making this an essential component of the ‘Suir Valley Golfing Experience’

The Course is a 18 hole course with a par 72 with its interesting layout & well designed holes provide challenging golf for the high or low handicap golfer.

Another local Golf Club in proximity to the Clonmel Park Hotel is Slievnamon Golf Course.

Slievnamon Golf Club is not part of the overall  ‘Suir Valley Golfing Experience’, however green fees can be arranged there 7 days a week.

Slievenamon Golf Club

Slievnamon Golf Club is situated in the scenic & picturesque surroundings of the Slievenamon mountain range, located approx. 5 miles from Clonmel on the main Clonmel to Fethard road and only a 12 minute drive from the Talbot Hotel Clonmel.

Slievnamon Golf Club is easily accessible & provides ample car parking & full clubhouse facilities. The golf club features a rich course providing an enjoyable game for all categories of golfer, particularly those who value shorter courses where accuracy, rather than length, is the key. The Golf Course is expertly maintained to the highest standards with fast true greens, well defined fairways and graded roughs that remains a pleasure to play for all our members and guests.

The course is a 18 hole course par 67 course is located on 90 acres of countryside, a one acre Ring Fort has remained untouched & there is a preservation order on the 4th hole as it is a natural habitat for various wildlife, the course is a relatively flat course & is considered not too difficult for the beginner but at the same time challenging for the experienced player.
