Today, we want to introduce you to Om Prasad Goutam. You will find Om based in our Kitchen.
When we interviewed Om for this little slot, we were delighted to learn so much more about our wonderful colleague.
Om is an extremely talented chef with a flair for pastry. He is always so pleasant to colleagues and has a permanent smile which is infectious to others around him.
Om joined the team from his home of Nepal via Bahrain, India, and Malaysia
𝐇𝐨𝐰 𝐥𝐨𝐧𝐠 𝐡𝐚𝐯𝐞 𝐲𝐨𝐮 𝐰𝐨𝐫𝐤𝐞𝐝 𝐢𝐧 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐇𝐨𝐭𝐞𝐥?
I have been working here in Ireland since 2022. I came to the Talbot Hotel in Clonmel when I first arrived to Ireland back on the 22nd of June 2022.
𝐖𝐡𝐚𝐭 𝐢𝐬 𝐲𝐨𝐮𝐫 𝐟𝐚𝐯𝐨𝐮𝐫𝐢𝐭𝐞 𝐭𝐡𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐚𝐛𝐨𝐮𝐭 𝐰𝐨𝐫𝐤𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐚𝐭 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐓𝐚𝐥𝐛𝐨𝐭 𝐇𝐨𝐭𝐞𝐥 𝐂𝐥𝐨𝐧𝐦𝐞𝐥?
I enjoy coming to work every day. What is brilliant is that I get to work with so many colleagues from all departments within the hotel not only in the kitchen. I really love working in the pastry section and baking.
I am also hoping that my brother will come from Nepal and join me here in the Talbot Hotel Clonmel as I have no doubt, he will enjoy it as much as I do.
𝐖𝐡𝐚𝐭 𝐚𝐫𝐞 𝐲𝐨𝐮𝐫 𝐡𝐨𝐛𝐛𝐢𝐞𝐬 𝐰𝐡𝐞𝐧 𝐲𝐨𝐮 𝐚𝐫𝐞 𝐨𝐟𝐟 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐧𝐨𝐭 𝐰𝐨𝐫𝐤𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐢𝐧 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐡𝐨𝐭𝐞𝐥?
I really like to travel as you can see by my route to Ireland. I love to see new places I have seen a lot of Ireland since I have arrived and really enjoy visiting around the beautiful town of Clonmel and the county. I also love to read and enjoy playing and watching football.
𝐓𝐞𝐥𝐥 𝐦𝐞 𝐬𝐨𝐦𝐞𝐭𝐡𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐚𝐛𝐨𝐮𝐭 𝐲𝐨𝐮𝐫𝐬𝐞𝐥𝐟?
I am a quiet guy and I just like to enjoy life!
I have a beautiful wife and son back home in Nepal and I really hope that they can join me here in Clonmel very soon, I am really working hard to try make this happen.
What Om never said when we interviewed him, was that he was chosen as our May employee of the month.
Om can also be found working helping on the Carvery for our busy lunch times and will always have a kind word and big ‘hello’, for all his regular guests.
Om has recently earned a well-deserved promotion to 𝐬𝐞𝐧𝐢𝐨𝐫 𝐜𝐡𝐞𝐟 𝐝𝐞 𝐩𝐚𝐫𝐭𝐢𝐞.
