Keri: My Inspiration,’ by Clodagh Sweeney (nee Brett) shares the incredible story of her daughter's fight for survival after catastrophic brain injuries she experienced at birth, and which resulted in a case she successfully contested against the HSE in the High Court in 2009. The book begins with Sweeney’s harrowing experience in the labour ward, where she faced the possibility of losing her baby. In a moment of desperation, she made a pact with God, vowing to do whatever it takes to save her child. Her prayers were answered and Keri was born, and the two embarked on a journey that would change their lives forever.
This story is about a mother's unwavering love and determination to overcome all odds. Despite the challenges they faced, Keri proved to be a true warrior. Her writing is raw, honest, and deeply moving, making this book a must-read for anyone looking for inspiration and hope with reflections and insights on the 16 years she had with Keri, cherishing every one of the 5,844 days they spent together.
Clodagh lives with her husband, Mark, her daughter, Lucy in Co. Tipperary where she now works as a Reiki practitioner continuing her ongoing journey to help others.
The book will be launched February 8th at the Talbot Hotel in Clonmel from 730-930pm. Also, it will retail in local shops and for order by bookstores. It retails at €15. It will also be sold online via Amazon.
