Sandra leads the fundraising charge!
A massive well done to our colleague, our wonderful Assistant Leisure Centre Manager Sandra Quinn who along with a fantastic committee has raised €11k.
The total of €11,000 has been presented to two charities locally supporting victims of sexual assault & domestic violence in South Tipperary.
The funds for the Cuan Saor Women Refuge in Clonmel & the Tipperary Rape Crisis centre was raised by the Daughters of Dun Iascaigh in Cahir.
The ladies organised two events to raise vital funds for the services – an auction of art donated by local artists raised slightly more than €7,000 & €4,000 was raised at a Wuthering Heights event.
A performance of the dance associated with the Kate Bush song Wuthering Heights attracted almost 190 participants who paid a fee to take part in choreography lessons on the day in advance of the performance.
The Cahir event is the first Wuthering Heights Day ever held in county Tipperary – the song is now frequently used around the world to raise funds for charities related to women.
Well done to Sandra and the team of Committee members.
